Before this season began the Marlins finally got rid of the final parts
of their 2003 world series team by trading Miguel Cabrera and Dontrelle
Willis to the tigers for Andrew Miller, Cameron Maybin, Mike Rabelo,
Burke Badenhop, Eulogio De La Cruz, and Dallas Trahern. This trade at
first made it seem like the marlins were just doing there thing and
selling away there best players while making there farm team a lot
better. Meanwhile the tigers were getting the last pieces they needed
to make a run at the world series, or so we thought .

What
actually happened is the marlins got two more pitchers for their
rotation in Andrew Miller (5-6, 5.07 ERA, 63 so)) and Burke Badenhop (
2-3, 6.08 ERA), a catcher to let Matt Treanor take a break every once
in a while in Mike Rabelo (.202 avg, 3HR, 10 RBI'S) and a future
franchise player in Cameron Maybin. And the Tigers got a single A
pitcher in Dontrelle Willis (dropped down to tigers single A minor's
team on June 10th) and a struggling Miguel Cabrera (.275 avg, 10 HR, 43
RBI's).

The Marlins even got a replacement third baseman in Jorge Cantu(.281 avg, 14 HR, 43 RBI's).
that
means that Jorge is actually doing better that Miggy and if you want to
compare the pitchers you could use either Andrew Miller or Burke
Badenhop who are both doing alot better than D-train. Whatever way you
look at it,except maybe who spent the most money(Miggy being owed11.3
million this year and D-train being owed 7 million this year), the
Marlins win in this trade.
