Everyone is saying that a Lakers-Celtics finals is exactly what the
league wanted and what fans wanted. however i am a pretty big fan of
the NBA and i didn't want to see a Lakers-Celtics finals. yes it will
probably get a lot of viewers (at least more than a Pistons-Spurs
finals would have) but young people who weren't around or were
extremely young when the Lakers-Celtics last played in the NBA finals
wont be as excited about this as the old school fans will be. I'm not
saying that these will be boring finals, i think that they will
actually be very interesting, but just think about a Cleveland-New
Orleans series. you would have LeBron James who is one of the best
known players in the NBA up against Chris Paul who some say is the best
point guard since Isiah. just think about that you would get all the
old school fans because they just love to watch basketball and you
would also get all the young fans because Chris Paul and LeBron James
are the future of the NBA. Or maybe even a Cleveland-Los Angeles series
because then you would have the 2 best scorers in the NBA up against
each other and that could lead to some epic battles back and forth. But
seeing as none of these will happen this year i might as well give some
insight to the actual match up we are going to be seeing. I think that
the Lakers will win in 6 because even though Boston may have won 2
games in Detroit they wont be able to win in Los Angeles and the Lakers
will most likely be able to take one in Boston. I think that the
person, besides Kobe, that will be the difference maker will be Pau
Gasol because the 2 times that the Celtics played the Lakers Pau wasnt
there and he can be a big deciding factor in this series.
